bio.undip.ac.id. Diponegoro University (Undip) has once again strengthened its academic presence on the international stage. The Head of Ce-MEBSA and Chair of the Biology Department at FSM Undip, Prof. Drs. Sapto P. Putro, M.Si., Ph.D., attended as a keynote speaker at the 9th International Conference on Multi-Disciplinary Research Studies and Education (ICMDRSE-2026) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on May 29–30, 2026.

In this global forum, themed “Empowering Education and Research: Shaping the Future through Collaboration and Innovation,” Prof. Sapto presented a strategic research paper titled “Multi-Bioindicator Framework for Environmental Biomonitoring and Biosecurity Surveillance in IMTA Floating.” This study integrates ecological indicators with aquaculture strategies based on floating-net Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) to maintain marine ecosystem health and boost fisheries productivity, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“In this era of rapid technological advancement and environmental challenges, a collaborative, cross-disciplinary approach is crucial to creating sustainable solutions,” Prof. Sapto stated. He also introduced Undip’s Ce-MEBSA as an official academic partner committed to supporting knowledge exchange and expanding global research networks.
This prestigious conference served as a collaborative hub for world experts. Aside from Undip, the event was attended by international guests of honor, including Siddth Kumar Chhajer (IFERP India), Kojobekova Aijarkyn (AIU Kyrgyzstan), and Dr. Goh Wei Wei (Taylor’s University, Malaysia).
A lineup of transnational scientists also shared their insights, including Prof. Abirlal Mukherjee (India), Prof. Athula Gnanapala (Sri Lanka), alongside academics from top Malaysian universities (UTM, UiTM, UNISZA, UNIMAS), Thailand (Khon Kaen University), Saudi Arabia (Saudi Electronic University), Iraq (Al-Ayen Iraqi University), and industry experts from the United States (CVS Healthcare USA).
This active participation serves as clear evidence of the international recognition given to the quality of Undip’s research in providing scientific solutions to global environmental challenges.
